how does Influence happen for the BK-man? is it intentional & by design, or do you suddenly notice that hey, i'm doing or quoting this, and then lean into it? probably a mix of the two? it'd be great to hear about some examples when this happened.
separately: do you experience any trepidation about oh man, should i or shouldn't i, because of how monumental the inspiration is, or any other type of anxiety of influence? i more or less paraphrased one of the most well known & quoted passages recently, but i'm an anon rando, and the stakes seem different as a published author.
how do you decide on the degree of interiority that you write in any given projects--a short story, a scene or a chapter? as in, the extent to which internal states are made legible, spelled out instead of triangulated through action or description? i guess this is a roundabout way of asking how you fine-tune the show-vs-tell knob, if it's more of a conscious decision, before beginning to write, or if you wing it.
